David Sinclair of the Harvard Medical School has found that resveratrol increases the production of a protein called SIRT1, which may increase human lifespans dramatically. BUYING RESVERATROL can be a confusing "job" since most companies do not clearly state or disclose the purity percentage of their products (the amount of trans-resveratrol yield, in relation to product weight). For example, two companies may offer same 500mg resveratrol capsule, one yields 50mg trans-R, while the other yields 495mg trans-R. One product is only 10% pure, less effective and should cost far less than the 99% pure product. Some companies intentionally compare the price of other companies’ high purity products to their low purity products' price, causing customers to believe they are getting a better deal. Last but not least, beware of the "Free Trial" offers, which do not display information about the product. (which eventually, those "free" trial offers will come back and hunt you).

A 500mg 99% pure resveratrol yields 495mg of trans-R, and will require double the dose (1000mg) of resveratrol 50% to supply the same amount of Trans-R. Due to the purity and purification process resveratrol 50% cost about four times less (per gram) than resveratrol 99%, but contains other inactive ingredients (i.e. cis-resveratrol, and natural emodin which acts as a laxative).

Capsule size should not affect the product cost; whether you take two 500mg capsules, or one 1000mg, does not matter and should not make a difference in per-gram price. Price comparison should be based on same purity and weight. Last but not least, buy resveratrol from companies who promptly display purity certifications by independent U.S. labs.
